We just can't get enough of the damn stuff!

I've now been working in web site design for over 10 years, with over 5 years experience at commercial level, working through a number of industries including real estate, holiday resorts, hotels, and most recently the finance industry.

My passion for web design spouted from an interest in graphic design and illustration, as soon as I started to look into developing my own sites using Photoshop and Notepad, I was hooked. A learning curve ensued, and a drive to understand everything web.

It wasn't until I hit university that I realised how much there was behind the scenes of web sites, and from there on I was hooked on learning server side scripting languages such as PHP and ASP. Eventually I chose the former, and have developed a great understanding of the language.

I've created a number of scripts/solutions, ranging from PDF creation, web content management systems and search engines, that have really exercised my understanding of web development and pushed me to find new solutions and optimise my code. Within that mix I've gained a good solid understanding of front end scripting languages such as JavaScript and utilising such libraries as jQuery, mootools, and scriptaculous.

I've been lucky enough to work on some fantastic projects that I've project managed, delivering within budget on time and exceeding initial specifications. I've also been involved in concept wire framing and story boarding, to implementation (both design and development), and user testing/reviewing.

I've spent a lot of time researching search engine algorithms, and have developed my own technology to power real estate sites, which is being used amongst some of the UK's top property portals.
